Butler Buildings Gets Gold from Metal Builders and Manufacturers Association
The Metal Builders and Manufacturers Association (MBMA) presented Butler Buildings with seven Gold awards for top safety performance at each of their sites. The MBMA annual awards recognise metal building systems manufacturers who show exceptional commitment to assuring workplace safety. The safety awards were presented at MBMA's 50th Annual Meeting held in Dallas, Texas. |
MBMA analyses data submitted by its member companies, using Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) injury rate guidelines to compare entrants' safety scores to other companies with similar exposure to accidents. There are three levels of awards: Bronze for those whose rates are 0-25 per cent better than the entire industry average; Silver for those 25-50 per cent better and Gold for those more than 50 per cent better than the industry average.
In congratulating Butler Buildings employees, Pat Finan, President Butler Buildings Division North America, said, “it was a proud moment for me and Butler Buildings when I accepted the award on behalf of your teams, seven Gold awards for top safety performance at each of our sites.
“Not a single company came close to that performance. We are clearly best in class in our industry. We have made a remarkable improvement in our LTI performance and have set the framework for further improvement. We have achieved top honours in our industry. Now let's go for world class!”
National Safety Council Awards Butler For Occupational Safety Management Excellence
The National Safety Council (U.S.) awarded each of the Butler manufacturing sites the prestigious Award for Occupational Safety Management Excellence. The award was presented for achieving an accident rate of less than half of the U.S. average for its industry.
President North American Buildings Group, Pat Finan said: “Everyone has demonstrated that with a strong effort and commitment, we can reach goals seemingly unattainable just a short time ago.
“Our improvement in safety is evident in many ways and has been recognised across BlueScope Steel. But no accomplishment is more gratifying than our employees returning home from work in the same condition as they arrived. This is what we expect. We should be satisfied with nothing less.”
